Mohammed Nurat Oluwatomi
Head, Technical Operations
B.Sc, M.Sc. in Cell biology and Genetics
Mohammed Nurat Oluwatomi obtained her B.Sc. in Zoology from the University of Ilorin and after this, developed keen interest in biomedical research and molecular diagnostics; went on to complete and obtained her M.Sc. in Cell biology and Genetics from the prestigious University of Ibadan, and graduated as an exceptional molecular scientist and geneticist
Nurat is passionate about women and girls’ rights, community health and improved disease diagnostics. Over the past three (3) years she has focused on projects that aim to reduce the burden of disease and discovery of suggestive ways of strengthening health systems of the communities these projects were carried out, she is an experienced molecular techniques trainer, biomedical researcher, and academic tutor.
Nurat has worked with different research groups and herself conducted series of experiments that involve DNA extraction, Polymerase chain reaction, Gel electrophoresis, SDS PAGE and ELISA. Her knowledge of molecular biology are reliable in clinical testing, research, review and validation.
Adanma Anizoba
Head Strategy and Development
B.Sc, MSc in International Energy Studies and Energy Economics
Prior to her current role at DemyHealth as the Head of Strategy and Development, Adanma Anizoba supported the West African Transaction Advisory Group with ongoing research for the G4A First-Loss Facility, a funding and risk sharing mechanism designed to accelerate off-grid solar financing in Sub-Saharan Africa.
She contributed research to the Consulting Group on a project-by-project basis
Emmanuel Okeke
Head, Molecular Diagnostics and Research Unit
B. Tech, General Biotechnology
Emmanuel is a distinguished Biotechnologist who has garnered vastly consistent skill sets in molecular techniques with the ability to easily unlearn and learn.
Safety first as they say, having worked in biosafety level I – III molecular laboratories with biological safety cabinet classes I – III and manipulating samples and microorganisms in risk group I – III, he has extensive knowledge of biocontainment and functionality of biological safety cabinets.
Emmanuel has outstanding skills in nucleic acid extraction from various sample types on both manual and automated platforms using different extraction methods. His manual extraction skills are almost if not better than automated extractor machines.
So far, he has extracted and amplified about thirty thousand (30,000) samples with impeccable record of contamination free, precise and reproducible results. Emmanuel has in-depth experience in invasive pre-natal molecular testing, molecular foetal gender determination, molecular pathology (infectious diseases), molecular genetics, molecular onco-haematology and oncology using downstream processes such as standard PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR (one-step and two-step), RT-qPCR, multiplex qPCR, nested qPCR, AFLP, RFLP, VNTR, and Agarose gel electrophoresis.
Additionally, he is good at molecular lab setup, troubleshooting, reagent validation, process optimization, RT cycler validation, and post qPCR modifications. Emmanuel has trained students, other professionals, lecturers, PhD holders and professor in different molecular techniques.
He is particularly interested in the less than 1% of human genome that makes us different from one another, research, reagent optimization, protein engineering, synthetic biology and the omics.
